The most beautiful beaches around Tivat: from hidden coves to sandy oases

With its coastline and the wild Luštica peninsula right next door, Tivat offers an incredible choice of places to swim: from well-kept pontoons with mountain views to hidden natural coves with crystal-clear sea. If you are staying in our apartments, here are our recommendations for a perfect beach day.

Plavi Horizonti (Pržno – Luštica)

Set in a deep bay on the open sea, this beach is famous for its fine sand and long shallows. It is surrounded by dense pine and olive woods that offer natural shade. Thanks to the calm sea and gradual entry into the water, it is a favourite spot for families with small children.

Almara beach (Oblatno bay)

For those who want a mix of clear turquoise sea, comfortable sun loungers and relaxed music, Almara is an unmistakable choice. This pebbly cove offers a top-class setting, an excellent Mediterranean restaurant and a beautiful view of the open Adriatic.

Ponta Seljanovo and Donja Lastva

If you would rather not start the car and want a refreshing dip in Tivat itself, the promenade towards Donja Lastva hides numerous stone and concrete pontoons, while Ponta Seljanovo is known for its lighthouse and pleasant pebbles. The sea here is exceptionally clean, and along the shore there are pleasant cafés for an afternoon coffee or ice cream.

Žanjice and Mirišta

At the very tip of the Luštica peninsula lie the coves of Žanjice and Mirišta, known for white pebbles and emerald-coloured sea. From here you can easily rent a taxi boat that will take you to the famous Blue Cave or to Mamula island.

Host’s tip

In July and August, it is best to head for beaches such as Plavi Horizonti before 10:00 to avoid traffic on the approach roads and to secure the best spot in the shade.
