How to get to Tivat: by air, car or bus
One of Tivat’s biggest advantages is how easy it is to get to. The town has its own airport, lies on the road between Kotor and Budva, and the apartments are located so that the airport, the bus station and the taxi stand are close by. Here is an overview of your options.
By air: Tivat airport
Tivat airport is among the closest to a town centre in the region: from the airport to the apartments it usually takes a short taxi ride. In season there are many direct flights from European cities, and somewhat fewer out of season. Check flight schedules with the airlines before planning your trip.
By air: Podgorica or Dubrovnik
If a flight to Tivat is more expensive or not available on your dates, consider Podgorica airport (about an hour and a half by road) or Dubrovnik (about an hour and a half to two hours, depending on the wait at the Debeli Brijeg border crossing). You can reach Tivat by taxi, a pre-arranged transfer or a rental car.
By car
Tivat is reached by good main roads from all directions. From Kotor the Vrmac tunnel leads in, and from Budva the main road follows the coast. In July and August jams are possible on the approaches to Budva and around the roundabout near Tivat, so it is better to drive early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Check guest parking with us before you arrive.
By bus and taxi
The bus station and taxi stand are close to the apartments, so even without a car it is easy to get to beaches and nearby towns. Local buses run towards Kotor and Budva, especially often in summer.
Do you need a car?
For a stay in Tivat itself a car is not essential: the town is flat and much is within walking distance. For trips to Lovćen, to the beaches of Luštica and to nearby places, a car or taxi makes the day much easier. If you need advice on getting here, get in touch with your inquiry.
